Welcome to My Engineering Website!

My full name is Lubomir Dimitrov Tchervenkov. Many people find it rather difficult. However, it is pronounced in a similar fashion to the name of the great Russian composer Tchaikovsky. Anyway, not to complicate things even further, I sometimes shorten it to just ‘Lubo Dimitrov’. This is how most students and colleagues know me.

I was born and raised in Bulgaria. Then, I was studying as an international student in Russia, where after five and a half years I completed Master’s Degree of Science in Engineering. Then, I worked for several years in Malta. Since 1998, I have been living in Perth, Western Australia, which I call my second true home. I have qualifications in electrical engineering, electronics, information technology, business and education. More information is given in my Resume.

For many years I have been employed as a service engineer in industry. However, my professional life in Australia since 1999 was dedicated to teaching. For this reason, in 2012 I decided to enroll at Edith Cowan University in Perth, where I completed my second Master’s Degree (in Education).

I am also an author of three books. The first one is dedicated to industrial electronics and was published in Perth, Western Australia. The other two are related to astrology and are published in Sofia, Bulgaria. Astrology is a big passion of mine and I have been practicing this ancient science for many years. More about my books you can read here.

You will find plenty of free study materials for TAFE and technical colleges students here. They are uploaded there to help anyone studying for tests and preparing assignments in the area of electrical and electronic engineering. These are not official tests, but merely learning aids to help students in their studies for the real tests. There are also plenty of free assignments, which can be used  by both teachers and students, who are engaged in the relevant units of competency.

The purpose of this website is to give people an insight about my personal background, my life and what I do in my professional capacity. I will be glad, if it serves as an inspiration to other educators, in the Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector. I also hope that the website will be of benefit to my students. The learning and teaching materials placed here are free of charge, so they might be useful to anybody, who is teaching or undertaking studies in the electrotechnology disciplines. A lot of the teaching materials given here can be easily adapted to suit variety of teaching courses, units and subjects. Please, feel free to use them.

I hope that you find my website informative and helpful and that you learn much from it!
Wishing you all the best,

Lubomir Tchervenkov MEd, MSc (Eng), MIEEE
Perth, Australia
